The Scarf is on it's way....

...to Cheeky at the other end of the Keystone State!

It took a little longer to get to her due to my (stupid) demanding work schedule, but, she should have it soon!

The Scarf sez....

The Scarf has some pretty good tase in yarn. One of my Plurk buds, KnottyLa, has an etsy site, dizzyblondestudios.etsy.com where she's got some AMAZING looking yarn. AMAZING, I tell you, AMAZING!

I mean, just look at this--

How can you NOT like that?

That's the newest colorway, Ginger, AKA My 2 Cents. That fabulous yarn, along with all the other gorgeous colorways will be in the update, slated for January 16, 2009 at 11:00am, PST.

The Scarf sez that this yarn is indeed quite awesome!

Adventures in Altoona

The Scarf joined me for Christmas at my friend Shelly's. We had an amazing time with her family--her daughter, Rochelle and their dog Cheyenne can be seen here. Not to be out done, her hubby even got in on the fun!

Doesn't he look dashing?

The day after Christmas, the Scarf decided that it wanted to go visit a yarn store...and off we went. Shelly, the Scarf and I spent a very enjoyable afternoon at the Delightful Ewe. I met some wonderful knitters who graciously posed with the Scarf. In no particular order, I present to you:

First up is Brandi.

She was trying to decide what her next project was going to be while we were there. I'm not sure if she ever did choose--the Delightful Ewe has so many amazing yarns to choose from!

The proprietress of the shop, Carla, decided to go for a racy shot...

Carla's shop is amazing...full of light and yarn! And inspiration! I would get up from my knitting and wander around, trying to decide what I wanted to work with next.

This is Ruth.

Ruth was working on lovely baby blanket, but, for some reason, when she left, the blanket was the same size as when she arrived!

And finally, this is my friend Shelly.

Shelly is an amazing knitter and spinner. She made her daughter and Carla some absolutely gorgeous Fair Isle gloves for Christmas. Shell finished a Wallaby for her son while we were at the shop and it is absolutely gorgeous!

The Scarf and I had to head back to Pittsburgh and we've spent the rest of the holidays getting ready for 2009. I hope 2009 brings you all the peace, health, love and happiness that you need and want!

Let's get things started...

....with a little help from our canine friends. This is Cheyenne, my friend Shell's beautiful German Shepherd. Even Chey thinks the scarf is pretty awesome!

Next up, is the lovely Rochelle.

Even the younger crowd thinks the scarf is cool!

Cousin It says it rocks her world!

What is the scarf's revenge?

It all started simply enough. Money was tight this year and so, I made a scarf for my work's grab bag. And was mocked for it--I was called cheap, too lazy to go to a store and basically embarrassed and humilated in front of my co-workers. I told my friends about it and a plan was hatched. The scarf is going on a road trip and we'll show my co-workers just how awesome my scarf really is.

Here is where (hopefully) everyone who has a chance to pose with the scarf will blog about their time with it and post a picture.
